"Fancy" Caysja's 7th Birthday

For Caysja's 7th Birthday this year she wanted a "Fancy Nancy" themed party. On her actual b-day, she woke up to the house all decorated (our tradition). She requested crepes for breakfast. She got to open her presents and then we had to rush off to school (I really do not like year-round school!!). For lunch, we came and checked her out of school and took her to McDonald's to get a happy meal. She loved that! We took doughnuts into her class along with a poster we made about her after that. After school we took her to Seven Peaks and then Caleb was able to get out of his meeting early and he met us there. She requested pizza for dinner. According to her it was the best birthday ever! Her party was the next weekend. She invited 7 of her friends since she was turning seven. I drew the Fancy Nancy cutout and she colored it. She requested cupcakes so I attempted to put little tiny Eiffel towers on them with fondant. Didn't turn out quite like I had imagined but it was my first attempt at fondant. Caysja and I tried something new with the cupcakes where we layered the cake batter with rainbow colors to make them more "fancy". We also had ice cream sundaes with lots of different toppings. This theme was SO fun--the possibilities were endless! All the girls got sunglasses, necklaces, and sparkly headbands. We decorated felt purses, read Fancy Nancy books, played freeze dance, pin the bow on Fancy Nancy, ate cake and ice cream and opened presents. It was so fun! I sure do love my Caysja. She is such a wonderful big sister to her siblings and she helps me so much. She has a wonderful personality that gets along well with everyone and I love that about her.

Crew's graduation from Joy School

At the end of May we held a little graduation for our little Joy School Preschool. Crew was so excited to "graduate"!

Memorial Day 2013

For Memorial day weekend we went camping with Caleb's family at the City of Rocks near Twin Falls. We had never been there before and it was beautiful. We went on several hikes, climbed some big rocks, and went swimming in the local hot springs.

Caysja's Ballet Recital

In May Caysja participated in her first ballet recital--Alice in Wonderland. Her class was the"snapdragons." She loved getting to wear make-up and said that the costume was her three favorite colors--pink, purple and blue.  My mom was able to come to it which was so nice since Caleb had a conference and had to miss it.
