4th of July

Caleb had to work on the 4th of July this year so initially we were really bummed not to be able to go home to Idaho Falls to be with our family for the holiday. It ended up being a really fun day though. I took the kids to the parade in Centerville in the morning. They got a lot of candy! Then we went to a park nearby to play. When we came home for lunch, Caleb was home! He got off early--a total surprise to us! After naps, we went to Seven Peaks to swim. At the beginning of the summer we bought "the pas of all passes" for $10 a person (they are normally like $50 or more). It has been one of the best things we did and we have gone probably about 10 times. Our kids love it. We thought it would be super busy but it was actually not too bad. After that we took the kids to McDonald's for dinner followed by the fireworks at Sugarhouse Park. We had a perfect view sitting on the hill! Parking was a disaster and we thought we were never going to get out of there, but it actually wasn't that bad. Our kids all fell asleep on the way home.

The cake I made for the ward BBQ--sorry it's sideways!

Fun with Cousins

At the end of June we baby-sit my sister-in-law's kids for a week so she and her husband could attend a wedding in Spain. All our kids are very close in age and they had sooooo much fun together!! We partied hard every day!

We took this pic after FHE.  Caleb gave the lesson on how the devil likes to bind us with sin and then he gave all the kids candy necklaces to use as "hand cuffs".

All ready for church with spikey hair!

I LOVE this picture of Will and Capri!
Poor Isaac had been sick and so he had to have a breathing treatment three times a day.  We wore him out during the day so this is what he looked like most nights.

Luau Party

At the end of June we attended Caysja's end-of-the-year party for Girl Scouts. It was a luau theme with yummy food followed by an award ceremony. Some of the girls were graduating to Brownies, but Caysja will do another year of Daisies. She has enjoyed this year and earned several badges.

Kiki's Hair Cut

Caysja's hair was so tangly in the mornings and everyone I talked to suggested that I cut it off. I was hesitant to do that since I love to do long hair! Finally, while my sister was visiting, I decided to have her cut it. Chalise cut about 5 inches off and did a great job!! It looks soooo cute on Caysja! She looks so grown up to me now.

"Under the Sea" Caysja's 6th B-day!

For Caysja's 6th Birthday this year, she decided she wanted a Little Mermaid theme. We had a lot of fun making the invitations as well as all the decorations. I drew them and Caysja colored them and helped cut them out. Here they are all ready to be put up the next day.
It's a tradition in our family that you wake up to the house all decorated on your birthday so here is what it looked like the night before.

That morning she got to open some presents and have crepes for breakfast (her favorite).
My sister Chalise shares the same b-day with Caysja and she was in town visiting along with Grandma and Grandpa (my parents).
Caleb was able to get the day off and he helped me so much!  Here they are filling up water balloons together.
Ariel cake

Eating lunch before the party--homemade mac'n cheese (also Caysja's favorite).  She also got to open another present--a new swimsuit!

The theme was "under the sea" so of course we had a to have a water party.  Too bad it was not the hottest day!  They all still got wet though.

Crew thought it was more fun to "swim" in the cooler
Decorating sand buckets
Playing pin the flower on Ariel--Caleb really got into it!
Breaking the pinata that Caleb made (see the post below).  He did an AMAZING job!!!

Say goodbye to Flounder...

opening presents
We took Chalise and Caysja to Texas Roadhouse for dinner that night for dinner and Caysja got to sit on the saddle while everyone sang to her.  (The pic is terrible though.  The lighting was bad.)
The one present not pictured is the new razor scooter that Caleb and I gave her.   She was so excited about that.
